Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
In Rabindra Nagar, Chunchura, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a protest on Monday in response to the recovery of over Rs 300 crore from the residence of Ranchi Congress MP Dheeraj Sahu, who is also an owner of an alcohol company.
BJP workers accused the Congress MP of involvement in significant corruption related to income tax payments and the misappropriation of public funds. The protest led to a partial blockage of GT Road in the Ravindranagar area, prompting a substantial police presence from Chunchura police station.
A clash ensued between the police and BJP demonstrators, resulting in the forced removal of protesters from the road. Notable BJP leaders, including Lovely De, Gopal Upadhyay, Rajiv Nag, and Suresh Sao, participated in the demonstration.
